Rene Magritte, "The Voice of the Winds"
A couple of margueritas got me shot
The bourbon was still there to drink
All the curves of my body balanced dangerously on the same spot
I couldn’t pronounce words with sense or even think
I went down to the shore
Amaris smiled galaxies and uncovered worlds of the night
A calypso moon sheltered my planetary dimensions of sore
And she got me dazzled, painting in shells
the warmth of a heart out of sight
She mumbled words about deserted places
As far as i could tell
I only saw spheric mermaids wearing silver necklaces
No past bright visions of a landscape of hell
She streched her arms around the breeze
And asked me if i knew that old caban in the solitude peak
I remembered my heart was swollen in the wide angry seas
So much to say but i couldn’t speak
And it was all about solitude
Those misplaced gestures that seemed always misunderstood
She still looked at me wondering why
With a Gauguin look, with wet footprints in the sand about to dry
I’ve lighted a cigarette with the sparkles of the moon
Amaris still waiting some glimpse of human kindness
Through the waves, the flow of the night annouced a monsoon
But for me it was still a matter of emotional blindness
She told me the ancient indian spirits would get us togheter
And she approached to me with silver flames dancin’ over her long hair
Our giving spirits climbed a bridge across forever
But the path we were riding through, in my head would get us nowhere
I asked her smiling smoke rings how many rivers she had crossed
She pointed a finger to the sea meaning endless
How many babel towers and blue roads I considered lost
In her fire-eyed dawn rays she was only wanting some tenderness
Our shades on the shore were like pale statues of sand
Amaris said we should forget all the world’s pains
And like islands in the stream we wrote a vow on each other’s hand
Happy sad, still heart drunken, i’ve been consumed flames
After a brief moment feeling the universe’s motion and stream
We began talking about the little caban we would build over a dune
In Amaris a velvet kiss rose as high as a heavenly dream
And that caban would see our children of the sunset
playing happy in a full colour room
The bourbon was still there to drink
All the curves of my body balanced dangerously on the same spot
I couldn’t pronounce words with sense or even think
